Responsibilities:

  • The role of Project Officer is to understand theme of the project, know about the implementing partners and importance of the project in the context of national and global priorities under the Paris agreement (2015). The main responsibility of the Project Officer will be to support and ensure effective and  smooth functioning of the project operations at different levels (UNDP, MOEFCC and State Nodal Departments), consistent services delivery and constant evaluation and readjustment of the operations to consider appropriate changes in the operating environment as and when needed during implementation of the project.
  • S/he shall work under the direct supervision of the Chief Climate Change, Resilience and Energy UNDP- based in New Delhi and the Senior Technical Advisor at UNDP. As this is a full-time position, s/he cannot hold any other job/assignments during this assignment.

Educational requirements:

  • Master’s degree from a recognized institution in environmental science/sustainable development/ Social sciences/ public policy or project related field.

Experience requirements:

  • 8 years of Proven work experience after completion of the master’s degree, as a Project Manager/coordinator or similar role. Out of which at least 6 years of relevant at the national level on climate change and related programmes
  • An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
  • Strong client orientation and teamwork skills. Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control

Desired Skills:

  • Experience of working with Central and/or State Governments/ NGOs/ UN/ Civil Society on similar assignments will be preferred.
  • Familiarity with the working environment and professional standards of international organizations and national and State Governments
