Description: TSCPL offers exciting career development opportunity for a motivated Urban Planner /Architect/Designer interested in working on development sector projects.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyse data on socio-economic, legal, political, cultural, demographic, physical and environmental factors affecting land use.
- Create, prepare, or requisition graphic and narrative reports on land use data, including land area maps overlaid with geographic variables such as population density.
- Conduct field investigations, surveys, impact assessment studies or other research in order to compile and analyse data on economic, social, regulatory and physical factors affecting land use and the population.
- Preparation of Request for Proposals, including Terms of Reference for major Consultancy and Services
- Coordinate work with consultants and architects during the formulation of plans and design of large infrastructure development projects by considering the environmental and social impacts.
- Review and evaluate environmental and social impact reports pertaining to private and public planning projects and programs.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of urban planning technicians and technologists.
- Design, promote and administer government plans and policies affecting land use, zoning, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation.
- Preparation of State Government’s Project Documents such as Operations Manual, Procurement Manual, Financial Management Manual, Social Management/ Tribal Development Plan, Environmental Management Plan etc.
- Should be able to manage and monitor the progress of all project activities.
- Coordinate & work on assigned research, consulting or business development activities
Educational requirements:
- Master's degree in urban or regional planning, environmental planning, urban design, or geography or equivalent
Experience requirements:
- The position requires 4-6 years of relevant experience preferably in the Development sector.
- This may be waived in case of exceptional candidates with a strong subject matter knowledge and quantitative skills
Desired Skills:
- Strong academic background with an academic outlook
- Commitment towards social and development causes with an interest in the area of public policy and governance
- Well versed with Urban planning & design tools, Microsoft office and comfortable with the use of Information Technology
- Excellent command over English language (verbal & written) with presentation skills
- Excellent in Hindi language (speaking)
- Highly organized, attention to detail, results-oriented
- An aptitude for innovation and creativity
- Ready to travel for short trips within and outside the country on pre-decided schedules for designated research projects
