Description: This position is responsible for working with local partners to implement the field pilot. They serve as the local point of contact for communities, partners, and government agencies to successfully implement landscape restoration initiatives focusing on market linkages. They help implement project activities at a community level, as well as coordinate trainings and exposure visits. They help identify and troubleshoot challenges that may arise
Responsibilities:
- Executes all field activities of CHiRP in coordination with local partners and the Delhi-based team.
- Provides technical and programmatic hand-holding support to local partners.
- Manages relationships and engagements with local partners, communities, and government agencies.
- Develops and executes training programs and exposure visits.
- Implements a wide range of field activities within the annual project work plan.
- Provides technical support to local communities and partners to ensure project achieves its overall objectives.
- Oversees and coordinates local reporting efforts in coordination with local partners.
- Proactively identifies opportunities, potential challenges, and needs to ensure the project is successfully executed.
- Captures lessons learned and applies an adaptive management approach.
- Effectively communicates the field status and needs to the project lead.
- Requires frequent local travel, periodic domestic travel, and infrequent international travel.
- May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances.
Educational requirements:
- BA/BS degree in natural resources management, conservation, forestry, or another related field of study
Experience requirements
- 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
- Experience in implementing field projects.
- Experience managing partnerships (partners, community, government).
- Proficiency in spoken and written Hindi
Desired Skills:
- Master’s degree in conservation, forestry, or related field
- Experience implementing natural resource management, community engagement, and restoration projects in the field.
- Familiarity with grassroots challenges and conservation/restoration practices in Central India.
- Experienced in partnership development and management (partners, community, government).
- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated, including fluency in English, Hindi, and/or other local languages in Chhattisgarh.
- Expertise in common computer applications such as MS Office.
