Description: SPRF is looking for a research associate to work at the intersection of governance, economy, environment, security, human rights, and other relevant public policy issues in India
Responsibilities:
  • Contribute independent research output (papers, issue briefs, commentaries, photo essays, videos and podcasts).
  • Collect, clean, and analyse secondary and primary data.
  • Comprehensively edit research pieces with a focus on argument structure, content and style. Build and manage external partnerships with policy experts, academics, policymakers, funding agencies, research organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify potential areas of research and develop proposals (as required).
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding and mentoring support to interns and research assistants.
  • In addition, the incumbent might be required to undertake other tasks related to specific research outputs, outreach communications, events and external representation.

Educational requirements:
  • Post-graduate degree in economics, public policy, development studies, and other relevant disciplines
Experience requirements:
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in policy research in conducting quantitative and qualitative research involving field surveys, preferably.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and working knowledge of SPSS/STATA/R.
  • Good communication (written & oral) skills in English, Hindi and/or another language.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented, proactive and able to work independently as well as in teams
