Research Intern – Climate Negotiations

Description: CEEW seeks to hire an Intern (01 position) who will assist in research and strategic communication in the space of climate change and negotiations. CEEW offers an intellectually challenging and conducive work environment, with a focus on research rigour, innovative thinking, and strategic outreach.
Responsibilities:
- Create a database of key initiatives by Government of India and States in the space of climate change (mitigations and sustainable development initiatives) and showcase their achievements and progress
- Undertake a discourse analysis on climate change related articles in the news to shed light on communication strategies
- Identifying ethical questions and wide range of contemporary issues in media and communications in the space of climate actions and negotiations and develop approaches to resolve them
- Developing approaches / strategies of media and communications in relation to climate actions, economy, governance and political standpoints
- Write project report/issue briefs based on the conducted research
- Assist team in research and outreach responsibilities
Educational requirements:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s degree with Media and Communication / Climate Science and Policy / Environmental Studies / Sustainability Studies or relevant streams.
Experience requirements:
- Possess knowledge of diverse social scientific approaches to media and communications.
- Possesses problem-solving skills - able to deal with ambiguity and uncertainties
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Must be an adept user of MS-office suit (word, excel, and power point presentations).
