Description: TNIFMC is currently seeking to engage the services of an experienced individual consultant to assist Tamil Nadu Shelter Fund (TNSF) in the offices of TNIFMC for a period of one year on a part time basis of around 60 hours/month (The contract may be renewed annually for up to three years depending on the business need and resource availability) to ensure that the objective of investments in the various affordable housing projects are met.
Responsibilities:
- Create design briefs (as part of RFPs) that reflect international best practices and innovative thinking for the new asset class being developed by TNSF.
- Lead the TNSF engagement on assessment of project feasibility from an urban planning and design perspective. Specifically, review the site location and other critical parameters to determine fit for proposed projects.
- Prepare preliminary concept and associated plans and proposals for project pre- feasibility, as required.
- Lead coordination with PMC firms/ individuals and architects appointed by TNSF on various planning, urban design, landscape as well as architectural aspects of projects including but not limited to MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) structural design etc.
- Coordinate with other relevant counterparts (e.g., land owning agency etc.) on an as needed basis.
- Lead site coordination from TNSF during the implementation phase.
- Contribute through innovative ideas for resilience and sustainability that will set apart the TNSF developments.
- Lead project certification processes (e.g., GRIHA, EDGE etc.)
- Oversee planning permission and approval processes undertaken by the PMC/ consultants to ensure timely project progress.
Educational requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with a post-graduation in Urban Planning/ Urban Design/ Sustainable Design/related field from a recognized institution, with
Experience requirements:
- 15 years of work experience is required.
- Ability to think strategically, analyse and synthesize diverse inputs from different disciplines.
- Proven project management expertise in multi-disciplinary projects; experience working on and reviewing design briefs, master plans, architectural designs, Structural/ MEP drawings, GFC drawings etc.
- Ability to drive value engineering based on cost and other constraints, without compromising core design principles.
- Sound understanding of national and state specific developmental codes, regulations and bye laws as well as approval processes.
- Ability to lead the process of obtaining certifications, and work with consultants appointed by TNSF to enhance specific design aspects towards achieving higher ratings, as relevant.
- Working knowledge of BIM is an advantage
