Description: Taru Leading Edge is looking to engage an Urban Planner on a Part-time basis for one of its projects in the Urban Development sector.

Responsibilities: 
  • Contribute towards quality outputs and project delivery and management - Maintain high standards of quality in project outputs
  • Take ownership of project goals, milestones and content and delivery of the same according towards client satisfaction/expectations and internal and contract requirements.
  • Provide regular updates and timely information to Taru Staff on progress on projects and assignments
  • Conduct field visits to the project sites and provide technical assistance towards outputs
  • Skills in data collection, gathering of information, stakeholder engagement and management
  • Simplify qualitative and quantitative inputs into creative, action-oriented insights and recommendations
  • Experience in developing project reports and documents, technical drawings, maps, PPTs along with monitoring of activities and milestones
  • Client management: working with clients to implement suggestions/recommendations, Facilitate client decision making using all modes of communication: formal and informal; written and verbal (1-on-1, small group, large group presentation)
  • Interactions with stakeholders (internal and external)
Educational requirements:
  • University degree (Master's) in urban / regional / housing / infrastructure / environment planning, architecture / geography / allied subjects from a recognised institute
Experience requirements:
  • 5 years of professional experience in the field of urban planning / design, project formulation and implementation.
  • 2 years of professional experience in the field of stakeholder engagement (public, private, civil society, academia) and integrated urban development planning and implementation
  • Good knowledge of the Indian institutional landscape, experience in capacity development activities and in the field of development cooperation.
  • Fluent English skills and ability to speak and write fluently in the local language (Tamil)
  • Aligning work style with established work culture and leadership team.
  • High personal & professional integrity. Team player and ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines. Problem-solving attitude.
  • Local knowledge and context of Coimbatore is a must
