Research Associate (Project-based)

Type: The appointment will be on contractual full-time basis for a period of six to eight months.

Description: AIILSG is looking for 3-5 years of experienced candidates to work on a project related to #urbangovernance and the impact of social protection schemes on urban communities.
Responsibilities:
- Implementing the project under the guidance of a team lead
- Performing various activities under the project, related to urban local governance and impact of social protection schemes
- Working with State Government authorities, municipal officials, elected representatives, NGOs, identified communities of urban slums / target group and other stakeholders
- Organizing and participating in the meetings/ workshops under the project
- Taking ownership of the tasks assigned and delivering required output in given time
- Undertaking any other work required to achieve the desired output under the project
Educational requirements:
- Qualification required: Masters in public policy/ social studies/ urban planning/ urban development or equivalent
Experience requirements:
- At least 3-5 years of work experience in urban sector
- Good know how of working with State and Local Governments
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis, presentation making as well as report writing skills are must.
- Experience of working on service delivery to urban poor and understanding of urban governance and social schemes is preferred
- Good command over English, Hindi and Marathi is necessary.
- Good communication skills (written and oral, in English and Marathi) are necessary.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have worked with Municipal Corporation of Greater
- Mumbai and/or other Urban Local Bodies of Maharashtra.
- A team player who is adaptable and result oriented
Desired Skills:
- Preference will be given to candidates who have a good command over Hindi, Marathi and English.
