Position Overview: The ICC seeks an Engagement Associate to help work with the Engagement team to grow the ICC platform, build its brand, and demonstrate its value proposition as a focal point for climate action in India.
Responsibilities:
- Support donor interactions (30%) This will involve supporting donor liaising through developing decks for kick-off meetings, collateral for donor touch points, preparation of briefing material, drafting follow-up emails on behalf of the executive director, and organizing convenings or briefings for donors as required.
- Build a knowledge base to support engagement (30%) This role will support all aspects of discovery and development of donor prospects and prospect profiles. This will include developing and managing materials to support engagement plans including memos, presentations and proposals.
- Help develop our engagement strategy (20%) This will involve working closely with the engagement team to develop plans and processes that maximize the impact of donor interactions to drive long term engagement aligned with the ICC’s goals.
- Support ICC’s growing network of partners (10%) This includes partnership calls and meetings with organisations and individuals that are keen to learn more about the ICC and identify areas of synergies. As the ICC is a collaborative, a big part of our role is connecting people in the sector and the engagement associate will work with the engagement team to build these connections
- Prepare grant materials (10%) Prepare draft for grant proposals and foundations and assist to prepare all annual development/ progress reports
Educational requirements:
- Relevant degree
Experience requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in consulting, business development, or entrepreneurial roles. Experience in the development sector, or working at/with a philanthropy is a plus
- Experience working in any climate subsectors in India; experience working in clean energy and/or sustainable land use will be given preference
- A demonstrated record of effective communication (both written and verbal)
- Strong interpersonal skills, and experience managing external stakeholders
- Ability to process information from multiple sources, and compile and articulate in a presentable manner
- Must be a strategic and creative thinker, detail and result oriented, have an ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Be a self-starter, flexible and comfortable in the grey to fill gaps in the organization, ready to support where required
- Adept at creating goal-oriented strategies, partnerships and programs without existing model or framework
- Able to listen to others and learn from their ideas with a sense of inquisitiveness and intellectual curiosity
