Position Overview: The ICC is looking for a program manager to design strategy and implement programs within the Land use sector. The role of the program team is to design and implement programmatic strategies, deliver knowledge products, conduct research for key thematic convenings, and ensure all ICC activities serve the community the ICC works with a high quality of presentation and analytical rigor. Program team members need to work with different levels of management and stakeholders to understand and preempt the ecosystem’s needs, in order to help the ICC achieve its goal of building a robust, connected community around climate action in India. This role will manage certain programmatic workstreams, and support the team as needed as we respond to the evolving challenges of the ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

    Co-develop the ICC program strategy on Sustainable Land use
    • Work with sector experts to identify gaps and opportunities in the Land use sector in India, with a focus on amplifying grant and impact capital for nature-based solutions in India, with a focus on sustainable agriculture and landscape restoration
    • Work with the Program team and ICC’s networks of philanthropies and civil society organizations, to design ICC’s value proposition as a domestic collaborative of actors in the Climate and Land use space.
    • Coordinate with the Engagement team on donor and network alignment for ICC programs on Land use and Water.
    Program Management – Land use and Water management
    • Explore feasibility and plan implementation of current ICC project pipeline including conducting a land use ecosystem mapping, creating a Roadmap for nature-based solutions in India, and building a Donor Advisory Hub.
    • Coordinate consultations and convenings for the Land use and Water program. Develop event collateral; Coordinate with key stakeholders to design agenda, plan structured discussions, identify key outcomes and collate invitee lists. And manage other event related tasks – invites, reminders, speaker prep, tech platform etc.
    • Gain an understanding of ICC’s stakeholder needs and influence their acceptance of projects
    • Manage end-to-end grant applications and grantee and vendors payments.
    General support to the ICC
    • Provide critical thinking and analysis to power knowledge management and programmatic work
    • Develop and deliver structured communication towards specific goals
    • Support or lead pieces of research relevant to or conducted by ICC affiliated philanthropies, partners, or advisors
    • Perform other tasks as required, including working with other teams within the organization as relevant

    Educational requirements:

    • Relevant degree 

    Experience requirements:

    • 8 years of experience, and significant demonstrable experience in the Land use, Forest Restoration, Agriculture and Sustainable Development sector
    • Candidates with experience in environment or development sector or working at/ with philanthropy or in the impact space will be given preference
    • Proficiency in MS Office tools like Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
    • Ability to manage external stakeholders, including partners and technical advisors
    • Ability to process information from multiple sources, and compile and articulate in a presentable manner
    • Be a self-starter, flexible and comfortable in the grey to fill gaps in the organization, ready to support where required
