Research Intern: Sustainable Mobility – TFT

Description: CEEW seeks to hire Intern (1-2 positions) who will assist the sustainable mobility team in carrying out extensive data analysis to understand the performance of public transport in Delhi. The work may require occasional field visits and coordination with various stakeholders. In addition to the duties and responsibilities outlined below, the Intern should be prepared, as and when necessary, to take on additional responsibilities. Interns will be renumerated as per industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out data cleaning and analysis of the real-time bus GPS data collected from open transit data portal
- Generate meaningful insights from various sources of mobility demand data.
- Involve in extensive data collection, and interact with professionals from the sector.
- Carry out relevant literature review and summarize findings as reports.
- Assist administrative team for organization of relevant events (whenever needed).
- Be willing to quickly learn new analytical tools and techniques and familiarise themselves with broader sectoral (transport) knowledge as required.
Educational requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with specialisation in transport planning, data science, energy or public policy
Experience requirements:
- Candidates with prior research experience of handling big data are desirable.
- Interest in the transport and energy sector in India.
Desired Skills:
- Experience carrying out data analysis on programmes such as Python, R, STATA are a pre-requisite
- Must have strong research skills – capability to carry out literature review is a key requisite, familiarity with research methods is desirable.
- Willingness to conduct frequent field visits/meetings with stakeholder
- Willingness to work on multi-disciplinary projects
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Experience in data collection preferred
- Experience in dealing with stakeholders (industry, academic, government etc.) preferred
