Responsibilities:
- Develop solution architecture for GIS applications across multiple industry verticals using remote sensors mounted on drones
- Define and document system and subsystem level requirements for products / features based on data collection needs
- Define test cases for verification and validation of sensors, data collection techniques and data processing/analysis/conversion, analyse and document test results.
- Create standard operating procedures and quality assurance/quality control techniques for conducting drone based sensor data collection operations
- Analyse feasibility of various client requirements for GIS data collection/analysis and support business development/technical discussions for the same
- Lead, mentor and manage a small team of GIS analysts responsible for data processing and analysis.
- Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for issues in daily drone data collection operations, implement corrective and preventive actions for the same
- Support documentation of user manuals, training and support manuals, and other technical product documentation as required.
- Drive continuous improvement of products and processes
- Remain fully informed on competitive products/solutions in the market and implement best practices.
Profile requirements:
- Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Geoinfomatics/ Remote Sensing or relevant field
- Relevant Experience: 6+ years
- Thorough familiarity with aerial photogrammetry processes, techniques, processing and analysis. Working experience with photogrammetry tools such as Pix4D, AgiSoft, ContextCapture, DroneDeploy, etc.
- In-depth experience with 2D and 3D GIS data formats / standards / databases / co-ordinate systems, conversion of GIS data
- Familiarity with GIS data analysis techniques for different applications in industry verticals such as construction, agriculture, telecom, oil & gas, solar etc.
- Thorough experience in working with relevant software applications such as QGIS, ArcGIS, Geosetter, AutoCAD etc.
- Ability to interpret customer needs and translate it into technical solution requirements.
- Good understanding and familiarity with drone design and drone operations
- Knowledgeable about drone-based sensors such as RGB/Multispectral/Hyperspectral/Thermal cameras/LIDAR, and drone based applications using the same
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
- Quality focused mindset with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in leading small teams, managing their work, and ensuring that the team can deliver output to its full potential
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written, along with strong presentation skills. Should be able to communicate in both technical and user-friendly language
