Description: The CEEW Centre for Energy Finance is looking to hire an Analyst to track the technological developments in the clean energy sector impacting the energy transition. The successful candidate will be responsible to track the global developments and analyse the impact of the changing technological landscape of the following key technologies – solar modules, wind turbines, EV, battery storage and inverters. The candidate will be expected to track the lab research, patent filings and product announcements of key products and companies (including startups). The analysis will be used for better policy making ensuring optimal utilisation of the technology and encouraging commercialisation of new technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Research
- Track global technological developments regularly through both primary and secondary research
- Keep a tab on changes in existing and upcoming technologies like – solar modules, wind turbines, EV, energy storage, blockchain and others
- Track requirements of key certifications and standards for key global markets and work closely with certification agencies and testing labs
- To develop series of publication like Tech Quarterly and CEF Analysis
- Collect and analyse primary data from operational projects to assess the performance of key technologies
- Track global policies encouraging the shift towards upcoming novel technologies
- General responsibilities – Analyst
- Assist with project implementation, including preparing presentations, factsheets and other communication material
- Assist administrative team for organisation of relevant events (whenever needed)
- Support efforts to use new media platforms for wide dissemination of CEEW’s work and, in turn, closer engagement with the wider community
- Open to travel to project sites and India and outside
- Conceptualize new projects focussing around adoption of new technologies
Educational requirements:
- Master’s degree with specialisation in engineering/management/law/public policy/power systems or related field (In case Master’s degree is not in engineering, then Bachelor degree in engineering or physical sciences is a must)
- Sound understanding of India’s regulatory environment and energy markets (specifically solar, wind, EV and energy storage markets)
- Advanced quantitative and data analysis skills
Experience requirements:
- Minimum two years of relevant work experience with project developer, manufacturer or certification agency
- Experience in dealing with public and private institutions within and outside India
- Experience of working with in the energy sector
Desired Skills:
- Superior analytical abilities and familiarity with research methods
- Comfortable with numbers and ability to make sense of large data sets
- Effective time management to work on multiple research projects at the same time
- Has to be a self-starter with an ability and willingness to work in a dynamic and fluid environment
- Ability to communicate effectively as a team member
- Ability to analyse information and present in a clear and accurate manner
- Willingness to show initiative in order to handle unforeseen challenges
- Ability to work in multicultural teams
