Description: The Technology Communications Intern is an opportunity for a, graduate, or post-graduate student.
The intern shall work at the interface of our technology partners. In this position, the intern may help collect and analyze datasets, create published reports, scientific articles, graphics related to applications of mapping technologies. Skill development will vary with the specific project, but the intern will generally have the opportunity to gain a deep understanding and experience in GIS, cartography and mapping, statistical analyses, scientific writing, and creating interactive data visualizations. This position advances our Strategic Plan, to “Mobilize science and technology to
Sustainable development goals.”
Responsibilities:
The intern shall work at the interface of our technology partners. Responsibilities:
- Assist our technology partners in developing and implementing mapping technology projects that demonstrate and/or evaluate technological interventions in development and practice by:
- Creating, collecting and, organizing relevant spatial data;
- Conducting spatial and non-spatial statistical analyses;
- Writing a blog post or other content to share the work; and/or
- Working with staff to achieve project objectives.
- Background in any of the following: Urban Design, Urban Planning / Management, Infrastructure Management, BusinessnManagement, Development Communications
- General understanding of Infrastructure development

- Interns must be self-starters driven by the opportunity to use creativeness and out of the box solutions for solving issues for sustainable development using science and technology while learning new skills. Interns should have a passion for social enterprises, strong research and analytical skills, and excellent writing skills.
- Successful candidates will have interests in learning about applications of disruptive technologies in sustainable development.
