Project: Water Security and Climate Adaptation in Rural India (WASCA)
Project Background:
Water Security and Climate Adaptation in Rural India (WASCA) is an Indo-German Project, commissioned by the BMZ in partnership with the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) and the Ministry of Jal Shakti in India for three years, April 2019 – March 2022. The project is active at national level and in four states namely, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.

The project targets to improve the existing planning and financing mechanisms for climate-resilient water resource management. Secondly, the project intends to build evidence by demonstrating water management measures in project States. Lastly, the project targets to establish and strengthen public-private partnerships for enhancing rural water security.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the technical team in maintaining the knowledge repository for the project, accumulating information, and materials from accredited sources nationally and internationally.
  • Support the technical team in developing and publishing relevant communication materials from time to time, assessing the demands and needs of the technical team.
  • Support the technical team in conceptualising and organising online and offline events including meetings, workshops, conferences etc.
Educational requirements:
  •  Graduate in social sciences, communications or comparable degrees. Post-graduation degree would be an added advantage.
Experience requirements:
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of work experience in any of the following fields: corporate communications, research, knowledge management or documentation.
  • Work experience with bi-lateral, multi-lateral organisations/ international agencies on communications/ knowledge management in the rural development/ environment sector is an advantage.
