Responsibilities:
- This position would provide an exciting opportunity for interested candidates to establish and manage a GIS lab to support research projects in different parts of the city/country. The candidate would be expected to perform the following tasks:
- Establish required GIS infrastructure at the organization
- Conduct the groundwork and prepare the baseline maps that will inform procurement of appropriate satellite maps, software and equipment by the site
- Training, handholding and supervising GIS mapping team
- Follow uniform SOPs for implementation, monitoring and quality assurance
- Maintain coordination between GIS, Census and IT teams
- Conducting geospatial analysis
- Represent the organization at various forums.
Educational requirements:
- M.Sc./ M.Tech/ M.A/ MPhil in Geography/Environmental Science
- P.G. Diploma or higher qualification in Geo-informatics Proficiency in remote sensing image processing and Arc GIS, Quantum, ERDAS, GRASS etc GIS software.
Experience requirements:
- 2-5 years' experience in the implementation of projects involving GIS-based surveying
