Responsibilities:

  • Becoming familiar with relevant UK Health and Safety (H&S) Regulations and Arcadis’ safety procedures to promote a culture of ‘Safety First’ and ensuring H&S issues are adhered to in your day to day role which may include preparation of health and safety plans for projects in the UK; 
  • Phase 1 Desk Study assessments of relevant land parcels to include the assessment of the geology, hydrogeology, potential contaminant sources (with preliminary risk assessment), engineering geology appraisals, other relevant and related aspects (site specific) and provision of recommendations. All to be reviewed and developed in consultation with senior consultants;
  • Processing data from intrusive site investigations (for example geological logs, chemical laboratory data and geotechnical laboratory data) for presentation and interpretation as required by the Project Manager / consultant;
  • Data presentation in a range of software products including MS Office applications. Previous experience in use of GIS / AutoCAD software and/or EVS would be advantageous but not essential;
  • Fulfilling duties within the Arcadis business management system including the completion of mandatory training, timesheets and other submissions as required.

Educational requirements:

  • Quality Degree in a Geoscience related discipline; for example: Geology, Environmental Geoscience, Environmental Chemistry (with specialisation in geology or hydrogeology); Engineering Geology etc)
  • Masters degree in a Geoscience related discipline (or similar subject) desirable.
  • Membership of relevant professional body would be beneficial

Experience requirements:

  • 1 to 6 years’ of experience

  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Work experience in Environmental Consultancy
  • Proficiency in Auto-CAD / GIS Software / Rockware / EVS / EsDAT/PowerBI. 
  • Data Science Skills (any one);
    • Programming: Python, R, 
    • Statistical modelling techniques
    • Algorithm Development: Machine learning, Deep learning.
