The Senior Researcher (Air Pollution) must be an Air Quality Scientist with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the domain of air quality. He/she may be a researcher and/or practitioner who has predominantly worked on air quality in the Indian context.

Description: We are looking for an independent, self-driven and highly motivated individual with an interest in Air Quality. The Senior Researcher (Air Pollution) must be an Air Quality Scientist with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in the domain of air quality. He/she may be a researcher and/or practitioner who has predominantly worked on air quality in the Indian context.
Responsibilities:
- Project planning, management and coordination to document 200+ organizations
- Manage a team of 2-3 junior researchers
- Collate key information sets through secondary research:
- About the stakeholders working in the air quality sector
- Work done under NCAP and clean air action plans by cities across India
- Comparative study of the Indian eco-system of actors with other countries who are forerunners in tackling Air Pollution like USA, UK, China, etc
- Conduct in-depth interview of organizations and distil key information
- Analyse interview information, secondary research to help develop pathways to improve India’s Air Quality
- Report writing and content writing for the website
- Master’s degree in Sustainable Development, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline and/or a Bachelor’s degree in environmental/chemical engineering, environmental sciences/studies/management or earth science
- 5 years experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to lead, schedule, conduct and manage projects
- Knowledge of the air pollution sector like clean air action plans, environmental regulations and reforms, governance systems, sources, best practices in the air quality solution space, organisations, etc.
- Experience in project management, MS Office, outreach and aptitude for problem solving required.
- Demonstrated exceptional ability (through published work, articles, etc.) to write and comprehend effectively
- Strong analytical research skills - ability to communicate complex concepts clearly, both orally and in writing, with fluency in English.
- Ability to understand and transfer skills and knowledge to a breadth of specialty areas
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team
