Description: EPIC-India is looking to have a Research Intern who is enthusiastic to work in the field of developmental economics, is a keen learner and have some experience in field research and data analysis.
Responsibilities: The Intern will be engaged in design, implementation and analysis of our projects and may also be required to write and present findings of the work to external partners, and therefore should have well developed interpersonal and communication skills. The Intern may also perform other duties as assigned.

The position offers the rare opportunity to work directly with senior researchers at the University of Chicago. The position will be full-time for a period of 3-6 months.

Educational requirements:
  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in public policy, economics, statistics, environmental science, engineering or a similar field is required
Experience requirements:
  • NA
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge and understanding of energy and environmental policy literature is required; work/research experience in the area is strongly preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive relationships with field staff and internal/ external partners required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data in a simple and straightforward way for non-technical audiences required
  • Familiar with any statistical software like R, Stata or Python would be a plus
