Description: The Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago (EPIC) India are seeking a research associate based in our Bengaluru office to support a wide range of projects in the Energy and Environment Sector.
The position offers the opportunity to work directly with leading practitioners in the energy and environment community, and policy researchers at the University of Chicago. The position will be starting from March 2021
Responsibilities:
- Supports the principal investigators and Program Lead in maintaining strong relationships with participating partner organizations, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders
- Manages the data collection and conducts the initial analysis to evaluate program progress
- Regular travel to field to monitor and assess the progress in fieldwork, including supervision of the field staff during surveys and quality checks.
- Develops and disseminates necessary project materials and collaterals targeting a wide range of actors such as policymakers and academic researchers
Educational requirements:
- A Master’s degree in Economics, or related fields. Bachelors with two years of work experience can apply.
Experience requirements:
- At least one year of work experience – field research internships are valid too.
Skills:
- Experience with data management, data cleaning, and regression analysis is a must.
- Should be a team player, and have the ability to work independently.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work in rural or peri-urban areas and travel extensively to study areas is essential.
- Fluency and excellent communication skills in English and Kannada.
