Description: The position will be based at Dakshin’s head office in Bangalore but will involve considerable travel and stay at the project site in Ganjam, Odisha. The initial period may involve work from home depending on COVID-19 related constraints.
Responsibilities:
- The Senior Research Assistant (SRA) would be expected to work with a team to develop lesson plans with an aim to bring children up to age/class appropriate foundational learning in formal and informal educational settings. The work will also include creation and execution of plans for capacity building of the community teachers and field staff.
Qualification and Experience:
- A Master’s degree in any of the social sciences or arts & humanities from a recognized university with 3 years of relevant experience in the field of education or a Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience.
- Experience in classroom/community teaching.
- Demonstrable experience working on issues related to education and learning.
- Ability to work with a range of social groups and local institutions in rural settings.
- Ability to incorporate feedback into planning for improvement of the programme.
- Team work and mentorship skills.
- Experience in identifying and developing resources for operationalizing the educational interventions.
- Proven record of planning, monitoring and assessing project progress using existing indicators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
